Jesse Melendez Recognized as a Leader in the Community

Jesse Melendez, feed and maintenance supervisor at the Nyssa feedyard, was recognized by the Nyssa school district as the May parent of the month. Jesse, who has been with Beef Northwest for 16 years at the Nyssa feedyard, is very active in the local elementary school as a basketball and baseball coach as well as assisting students with their reading and math. The award is given by the district staff.

In their letter of commendation they said: “Jesse is a very kind hearted man with a gentle demeanor. Jesse leads the children by example and always sees the positive and maintains an awesome attitude. He has very high expectations for the young children that he works with and believes that all children can succeed�.

Jesse and Noemi have 4 children and are looking forward to a busy summer. He is coaching an all star baseball team of 11 and 12 year old boys and taking them to regional tournaments as well as coaching a T-ball team. He has served in many roles at the feedyard over the years including feeder, cattle doctor and as a supervisor. We are proud of Jesse’s contributions to the local community, schools and for the many years of dedicated service to Beef Northwest.
